Boots has released a Christmas advert, getting shoppers in the Christmas spirit. The advert premiered yesterday (Thursday, November 8) and features a single mother and her daughter. The song for the Boots Christmas advert is Robbie Williams 1998 hit She’s the One.

However, the lyrics are changed to “She’s me Mum.”

The 90-second advert follows single mother, Clare, and her teenage daughter Molly, as they prepare for Christmas.

The pair are bickering in the run-up to Christmas, like many mothers and teenage daughters do.

In the end, the advert celebrates the unique bond between mothers and daughters.

The advert starts with Clare struggling to help Molly put her hair up which ends up with the teen losing her temper.

Another moment sees Molly rushing down the stairs with a face full of makeup on her way out when Clare stops her.

Claire then gives her a packet of face wipes to remove the make-up.

Other clips show Molly borrowing her mother’s perfume, causing it to run out and rolling her eyes at her Clare as she cries watching TV.

One night, Molly sees her mum singing carols with her local choir at a Christmas market and is surprised to see Clare in this light.

Afterwards, Molly decides she wants to buy her mum a Boots No.7 red lipstick for Christmas.

She gives her it on Christmas Day with a card that reads: “Keep singing x.”

The advert features Boots beauty products during key moments in the advert such as make-up wipes, perfume and hair products.

Helen Normoyle, marketing director for Boots UK and Ireland, explained: “Christmas and the festive period is a perfect time to bring together friends and family.

“We wanted to really celebrate this special connection by focusing in on the spirit of beauty gifts showing you really understand your loved ones.

‘“The story charting the relationship between the mum and daughter was a perfect example of how even when we’re close to the ones we love, we can often take their unique traits for granted.

“Working with our own Boots colleagues in the choir and having a fresh take on a well-known song provided a fun and touching way to bring our proposition to life.”
