When Charity (played by Emma Atkins) finally made her way back to The Woolpack in tonight’s episode of Emmerdale, her uncle Zak (Steve Halliwell) dropped a shock bombshell.
Charity explained she was desperate to find her father and find out why he’d kicked her out of the house at such a young age.
“I wouldn’t know where to start,” she moaned when girlfriend Vanessa Woodfield asked how they could find him.
Zak then chipped in: “I do,” leaving Charity speechless.
She quickly demanded answers, asking: “What do you mean?”
“Well, he wrote to me a couple of years ago,” he explained. “I didn’t think it would do you any good.
“I threw his letter away but this is address he gave me, he could still be there.”
Charity was furious as she hit back: “Zak you had no reason to keep this from me.”
“Yeah, you’re right and I’ve not been the best uncle,” Zak replied.
Vanessa went on to ask Charity: “What do you want to do?”
Charity explained she still wanted to face her father as she believed he was responsible for what happened to her.
“He made me who I am, he’s let me down in ways he won’t even admit,” she said.
“I think I’ve got a right to know why.”
“So you’re going to see him?” Zak asked.
Charity calmly insisted: “Yeah, tomorrow, because I need answers.”
Fans of the ITV soap will have already seen in leaked pictures that Charity does come face-to-face.
Will what her father has to say prompt her to move closer to him or could she decide to move away in search of a new life?
Charity has had her fair share of trouble and it wouldn’t be surprising if she wanted to leave that all behind.
Following on DI Bails’ trial, she’s been struggling with her emotions.
Could a move away from the village or even a temporary break help her to move on?
Emmerdale airs weekdays on ITV at 7pm.
