Tonight (Sunday, November 2018) saw the results show of Strictly Come Dancing 2018’s Blackpool week and one more celebrity left the BBC show. Newsreader Kate Silverton became the eighth celebrity to leave Strictly after dancing off against Graeme Swann. Here’s your recap of the events that led to Kate Silverton leaving Strictly Come Dancing 2018.

Who left Strictly last night?

Kate Silverton left Strictly Come Dancing last night along with partner Aljaz Skorjanec.

She was the second worst-scoring celebrity on Blackpool week, with a score of 30 for her American smooth to Everlasting Love by Love Affair.

However, lowest-scoring celebrity Lauren Steadman was safe from the bottom two despite scoring only 25 for her Argentine tango to River by Bishop Briggs.

Instead, Graeme Swann and Oti Mabuse were in the dance off.

They had got the third worst score of the night for their jazz dance to The Trolley Song by Judy Garland.

After both coupled had re-performed their dances, it was up to the judges to choose who would leave the competition.

All four judges chose Graeme and Oti.

Craig Revel Horwood said: “For technique and performance I’d like to save Graeme and Oti.”

Darcey Bussell said: “This is really tough, but the couple I would like to save on a more energised and detailed performance is Graeme and Oti.”

Bruno Tonioli said: “Purely based on what I saw I have to go for the couple that gave the more accomplished and overall stronger performance and for that reason I think Graeme and Oti.”

Shirley Ballas said she too would have saved the cricketer.

Kate said of her time on the show: “You know I’m actually weirdly perversely, not that I would have wanted to go out, but on a night like tonight in such a place, I couldn’t have asked for anything better really.

“I got to dance twice, went up in a hot air balloon twice, and I loved it twice.”

Aljaz said to Kate: “I have to say we started every single dance from scratch and I am so impressed.

“Every week going out there and delivering incredible performances, for someone that has never performed in her life I am so incredibly proud of you.”

Kate and Aljaz will appear together for their elimination interview with Zoe Ball on Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two on Monday, November 19 at 7.20pm on BBC One.

Strictly Come Dancing 2018 continues Saturday, November 24 at 6.50pm on BBC One.
