But Faye, 42, said she and second husband Michael Smith are rock solid, despite spending months of the year away from each other.
She said: “I was on tour with Steps all summer and am away with the theatre, so my husband and I are used to being apart from one another and we’re absolutely fine with that.
“It is tough on the family but we have got into a routine and, actually, I think of myself as just like any other working mum, just maybe a lot luckier.
“There are some people who juggle three jobs and don’t get to see their kids. I am away a lot at the moment but I do the school-run three times a week, walk the dog before training and get to spend every Sunday with my family. I am lucky. I am loving life at the moment and don’t want things to change.”
Steps were one of the biggest pop acts of the Nineties with two No1 singles and No1 albums in the UK, selling more than 20 million records.
Faye married Jesper Irn in 2002 but divorced five years later. She has been married to Michael since 2009 and they are parents to son Benjamin, nine.
On Strictly, she has been paired with Italian hunk Giovanni Pernice, 28.
He sparked up a romance with ex-Corrie actress Georgia May Foote, 27, during their run to the final in 2015 – a relationship that forced the break-up with her co-star beau Sean Ward, 30.
Faye and Giovanni will attempt a rumba this week and she has no problem with flashing the flesh in the sultry Latin dance as she dropped a dress size in training.
Meanwhile, love rat comedian Seann, 32, and Katya, 29, should be forced to perform a Dance of Shame, according to judge Craig Revel Horwood, 53, when they take on a Charleston.
The pair appeared on spin-off show It Takes Two this week to apologise for their indiscretion but they are still favourites to be booted off.
Craig said: “My take was keep them in the show, make them do the Dance of Shame. It’s really important that, if this does happen to you, you face up to it.
“You either, as they have done, apologise, which is absolutely fine.
“But get on with the job and show people what you’re made of and show people, ‘OK, this is what I did, I’ve been employed to do this job, I’m going to go on, do the job, get on with it and do it well and do it professionally’.”
Craig said the Strictly curse was “a blessing when you think of the success stories”.
But he said the kiss was “different because one person is married and the other one had a girlfriend”.
Seann and Katya shared an intimate lunch yesterday – but it was all for show. They were filmed for a training update and both made pizzas.
